Horses and Ponies are awarded points in registered classes in accordance with the scales set out below, providing that the judge on the day is recognised by Dressage Ireland and qualified to judge at that level. Points are not awarded in restricted classes, i.e. Pony, Junior, Young Rider, Freestyle, Amateur or Riding Club.
Please pay attention to the following:
From 01.01.2010, horses are upgraded continuously. This means that once your horse leaves its grade, you can only compete the horse at its new level or above.
Regarding qualifications for championships, the following rule comes into effect from 01.01.2010:
A horse can only qualify for a championship level, if the qualifications are gained in full before the horse is out of that level.
e.g. a horse which gains 1 qualification score but needs 2 scores to qualify for championships, and is out of its level after the first qualification and before gaining the second qualification: this horse CANNOT compete at that lower level any longer and can therefore NOT compete at the championships at that lower level.
BUT: a horse which gains its full qualification BEFORE leaving its lower level CAN compete at the championships at that lower level.
