Tests are in 20×40m arenas for all Qualifiers.
Note that Junior and Young Riders will have one test in their semi final in a 20×60m arena.

10 riders from each category to go through to the semi-final at Marlton Stud, Co. Wicklow on 13 August.
The under 12 winners will be decided by their placings in the semi-finals.

The ride-offs (finals) will take place the next day, 14 August at Marlton.
The top 3 pony,junior and young riders will have the full ride off where they will ride each other's mount (within each category) and the winner will be determined by totaling their scores.

Riders may be Dressage Ireland members or not.
However, no horse/pony or rider should have competed at Medium Level or above (dressage) or 2* Eventing or above.

For safety reasons, stallions are not allowed.

In essence,the format of the competition remains unchanged. Two arenas will run at each qualifier as has been the case in the past. The master judge will sit in the middle, as in the past and give rider marks, and each arena will have a judge who will mark the test in the usual fashion.
