The theme of involving children, via the pony clubs (1 suggestion, from Northern Region).
Dressage Ireland response: For youth development, a number of initiatives are under development, including the Dressage Ireland Youth group, about which information will follow shortly.
Points specifically in relation to Northern Region (location of shows, clearer information on differences between NID membership and DI membership - 2 messages).
Dressage Ireland response: These suggestions have been forwarded to the relevant region to follow up.
One proposal for cheaper membership for winter months for members of Eventing Ireland.
Dressage Ireland response: For membership, a new “Parent Membership” has been introduced. Other types of membership are under discussion but as time is not on our side any further new types of membership will not be introduced until next year.
One detailed message highlighting approaches used in Spain in relation to membership, competitions and training for young riders/juniors.
Dressage Ireland response: The suggestions from Spain, have been drawn to the attention of the relevant people who are working on developing DI membership, youth development, competitions and DI structure and organisation.
One suggestion regarding location for Nationals (proposing Cavan).
Dressage Ireland response: The National Dressage Championships will be held at Cavan Equestrian Centre on 25th, 26th and 27th September 2009.
One suggestion proposing more contact and knowledge sharing between regional committee members.
Dressage Ireland response: The suggestion about knowledge sharing/contacts between regional committees is very important but this is already happening. The regional representatives on the board give regular reports and share information with other regions at the monthly board meetings.
One comment highlighting the difficulty in finding trainers.
Dressage Ireland response: A trainers list is being compiled at present and will be available on the website in the near future.
