EXCITING NEWS FOR JUDGES
ONLINE NATIONAL TRAINING COURSE COMING SOON
During these uncertain times with Covid restrictions preventing the usual opportunities for National Judge Training, the Judges Committee (JC) is acutely aware that DI judges need to maintain their skills and also to upskill. To this end, the JC have secured the services of FEI 4* Dressage Judge, Jo Graham, to present judge training webinars specifically for Dressage Ireland.
The webinar will consist of a series of four sessions, approximately 1 hour long, starting at 18:00 hours, on all four Thursdays in January (7th,14th, 21st, and 28th/) 2021. The topics covered will be walk, trot, canter and collectives, giving feedback into the basics of judging at any level.During the webinars, participants will have the opportunity to give marks anonymously, from the comfort and privacy of their homes (or elsewhere).
7th January, 2021 – Trot and trot movements
14th January 2021 – Walk and walk movements
21st January, 2021 – Canter and canter movements

These webinars are an excellent educational experience and can be very confidence-building for all judges and especially for those judges preparing for upgrading exams. Riders and coaches can also benefit from the webinars, by gaining a deeper insight into what is expected of them in a real test situation.
The webinars will count towards the National Judge Training requirement for 2021 with the attendance at a minimum of two webinars. The cost of the webinars for all four sessions is €45 or two sessions for €30. This is payable, along with a completed Judge Training form, either online via PayPal, using email address firstname.lastname@example.org,indicating – ‘webinar’ or by cheque to the JC Secretary.
