STATEMENT FROM DRESSAGE IRELAND CHAIR, GILLIAN KYLE:
Many congratulations to Team Ireland on becoming the first Irish dressage team to qualify for the Olympic Games. It is an amazing day for the sport of dressage in the year that we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Dressage Ireland. In my capacity as Chair of the Horse Sport Ireland dressage & para-dressage high performance committee I want to acknowledge the hard work of all those who have finally got us to this day.
The outstanding performance of our four ‘girls in green’ Anna Merveldt, Kate Dwyer, Heike Holstein and Judy Reynolds puts the sport of dressage on the map in Ireland. To all of those who have assisted both Dressage Ireland and Horse Sport Ireland in getting us to this wonderful day for our sport, my sincere and heartfelt thanks.
