Message from the CPBS -

We are delighted to announce the sponsorship of Champion Connemara Pony of the Leinster Dressage Botanica Summer Festival. This will be awarded to registered Connemara Pony that achieves the highest combined score across the championship tests. Entrants do not need to be registered with Dressage Ireland but intention to compete and a photo of the pony’s passport does need to be send to leinsterdressage@gmail.com by the 28/05/24.

Connemara ponies possess a remarkable blend of athleticism, intelligence, and willingness to engage, making them ideal partners for dressage. This highlighted by the success Carn Verdon Boy who reached Intermediate I level with Alana Cazabon. Despite this the Connemara Pony is underrepresented in dressage. It can be daunting to compete against flashy warmbloods and so we hope this award will create a space to promote our native breed in the sport.
